NLCS, ALCS Matchups Set
TBS can’t be happy tonight. Every Division Series ended in either three or four games, That means there will be no games Tuesday or Wednesday for the network to broadcast. The Los Angeles Dodgers travel to the Philadelphia Phillies to start the National League Championship Series Thursday. The series will be aired on Fox. The Tampa Bay Rays host the Boston Red Sox Friday to begin the American League Championship Series on TBS. Unlike the first round’s best-of-five format, the upcoming series is best-of-seven games.
The best regular-season teams were eliminated. Six months of play were wasted within a week. The 97-win Chicago Cubs were swept by the Dodgers and the 100-win Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim were defeated in four games by the Red Sox. The “Second City” suffered twice as the Chicago White Sox were eliminated in four games by the Rays. The Milwaukee Brewers’ first postseason appearance in 26 years ended after a 3-1 series loss to the Phillies.
