College Football, Playoff Baseball on Tap
Today was light in sports. Boise State improved to 6-0 by defeating Hawaii, 27-7. BSU, ranked 15th in the current Associated Press poll, is hoping to be in the top 12 of the final BCS standings for the second time in three seasons.
Top-ranked Texas (7-0) will try to maintain its lofty status when it entertains 11th-rated Missouri (6-1) Saturday night. Missouri was upset last week by Oklahoma State but Tiger quarterback Chase Daniel leads a strong offense.
Most of the top 10 college teams will be in action but they won’t be playing each other so the day might be light on upsets. In addition, Tampa Bay will try again to win its first American League pennant against Boston. Game 6 of the AL Championship Series will be played tomorrow night in St. Petersburg.

With the way this college season has gone so far, I’d expect Texas to lose today. It’s not a good year to bet on the favorites.
The season’s been great so far. I think Texas will probably lose before the season’s over. Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and the BCS Championship Game (probably a rematch with Missouri) still await the Longhorns.
