Ups and Downs Abound
Some good news tonight is that Sports 2000 is nearing 100 comments. Thank you and congratulations in advance if you post number 100.
Some bad news is that I’ve dropped to 2-6 in my bowl picks. I’m having an awful time predictions winners. I’ll keep my fingers crossed from North Carolina (in the Meineke Car Care Bowl against West Virginia), Florida State (in the Champs Sports Bowl against Wisconsin) and California (in the Emerald Bowl against Miami).
The Los Angeles Lakers looked great in the last few minutes of their game Thursday against Boston. The Celtics led, 81-79, but the Lakers scored 13 of the game’s last 15 points to win, 93-82. Boston’s 19-game winning streak ended. Los Angeles took a measure of revenge for losing June’s Finals in six games to Boston. However, there’s a long way from here to the playoffs.
