Two-Week Interval Too Long
I wish the Super Bowl was going to be played this weekend. The two-week gap between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl is too long.
Pundits are filling the fortnight with opinions about defensive fronts and special teams schemes. The chatter will intensify Monday once the teams arrive in Miami.
I’m not overcome with anticipation. I’m just bored and ready for the game to begin. I won’t mind watching the commercials either.
It doesn’t help that this weekend is one of the most lackluster of the winter. There’s mid-season basketball, mid-season international football, the fourth round of the Australian Open, the fifth round of the Bob Hope Classic and the NHL All-Star Game–if you can find the cable channel that will broadcast it. Wake me in eight days.
