Rodriguez Steroid Admission: Shock to No One
It’s not a surprise that Alex Rodriguez came clean about his steroid use. Typically, if someone knows enough about your situation to ask you personal questions about it, then that person will know enough to prove your non-denial “deniais” are false. The Yankees open spring training this weekend. Rodriguez is schedule to report next week. Expect a media circus.
The NFL Pro Bowl was Sunday. I didn’t watch but I imagine quite a few people–knowing the exhibition season doesn’t start for six months–watched. Anything to get a football fix. The draft is in late April.
Los Angeles won in Cleveland Sunday, ending the Cavailers’ spotless home record in 2008-09. Assuming Andrew Bynum returns to full strength after suffered a knee injury last month–which he failed to do last season–the Lakers must be considered the favorite to win the NBA championship. That said, Boston and Cleveland aren’t finished yet.
Now that the Australian Open is done, it’s a long wait until the French Open in May. Yes, there are two or three tournaments per week scattered across the globe. However, the top players typically find ways to avoid facing each other in non-Grand Slam events. Therefore, it’s hard to be excited about second-tier tournaments.
