Chelsea, Barcelona Win First Legs

Barcelona all but clinched in a spot in the UEFA Champions League semifinals by crushing Bayern Munich tonight, 4-0. Bayern will have to beat Barcelona in next week’s return match by at least four goals in Germany to advance. Meanwhile, Chelsea claimed a 3-1 win at Liverpool. Chelsea will have a big advantage entering next week’s second leg in London.

Connecticut’s women’s basketball team finished a 39-0 season by crushing Big East rival Louisville for the third time Tuesday. This meeting came in the final of the NCAA Tournament. Although it was a bit closer than the previous two games, Connecticut won easily, 76-54.

The Masters begins Thursday. Tiger Woods will be seeking his fifth green jacket. Trevor Immelman will defend his title. Padraig Harrington will try to win his third major tournament in a row following the 2008 Open Championship and PGA Championship. Most of the world’s best players will be teeing off at Augusta National Golf Club.
