Published by xzchief at 6:49 pm under World Football Edit This

Barcelona breezed to a 1-1 draw tonight against Bayern Munich to reach the UEFA Champions League semifinal. Barcelona did the hard lifting last week by crushing Bayern, 4-0. The two-leg aggregate was 5-1, Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Liverpool drew, 4-4, at Stamford Bridge. The match was cracking for offensive-minded fans. Liverpool lost the first leg, 3-1, at home. Therefore, Liverpool had to attack early and often. Chelsea managed some counter attacks and was able to keep its English rival at arms length. After 90 minutes, Chelsea survived on aggregate, 7-5.

The National Football League released its 2009 schedule today. Based on 2008 records, the Miami Dolphins have the toughest schedule. Their opponents this season had a .594 winning percentage last year. That said, estimating who will do well in the NFL based on schedules is like trying to refinance a house today based on its 2006 value. There are going to be some nasty surprises along the way.
